ahhhhhhhhhhh ...Athens, Greece.
Back in highschool, Grace my 'sitting partner' (or so we called each other for we sat next to each other for two years) went on a holiday to Athens with her family. I remember asking her how the Greek look like ( they didn't just coin the term 'Greek gods' for nothing, do they? Hrmmmm) , and I remember listening intently (with a twinge of envy, if I must say) to her travel stories- and oh- the postcards she wrote me with pictures of cities so far away, so foreign, that only I could see on TV or from books.
Never did I imagine that 9 years down the road I would be there, in Athens itself- seeing in flesh the ancient ruins of the Greek, exploring the Acropolis and the old marketplace, Theatre of Dionysus, witnessing the splendidicity of the Greek's architecture , its culture, language- ah never say never, nor is nothing unimaginable.
I had three days in Greece. Day One was spent with Ally, Jennie and Pek Kun- exploring the city of Athens (of which i shall blog about in the next few posts)
Day two: we (Ally, Jenny, Felicia, Ian , Chloe and myself) left early for Santorini by the high speed ferry which takes us to the gorgeous Greek island in 6 and a half hours.
Google Santorini.
Yep.
See the gorgeous sunset? ( ahem.. 'the most beautiful sunset in the world' I heard).
See the beautiful blue and white buildings overlooking the sea with nothing but gorgeous islands and mountains for its backdrop?
:P
Well, that was what greeted me whenever I stepped out of our quaint little rented villa in Santorini.
Greek terms we learned :
kalimera: good morning
kalispera: good afternoon
kalinikta: good night
afgaristo: thank you
saga po : I love you
tadaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!
We rented two cars from Jimmy's, just behind our villa. Thank you Wei Jie, we got the discount!!! :D
and our road trip begins!
The next day...
yess! i was THATHappy!!
the 6 hour ferry ride back to Athens. We were well equipped with chips, play cards and beer. HMM.
Definitely a trip i shall never forget.
xx.
