Happy tired

Exhausted, but oh I am happily snuggled up in the coach to KL right now, all ready for the start of my 3-day weekend.
I am awfully pleased today because I spoke to my boss and asked for a bigger portfolio, and successfully assigned myself to this team that is doing superb sales. Woohoo!

Just great as I have been feeling a bit bored of late, and it's probably because it has been slightly over a year that I am with this bank.

Also, gian and I have confirmed our trip to Sibu island next weekend, so I am truly looking forward to getting my ass to the beach!

Anyways, this weekend I am going to dedicate myself all to working on this upcoming project with cel, and to spending time with the family. That, and visiting Sammy too.

Ok, time to crash in the bus.

One Hand Show

For a day now I have been balancing everything with just one hand.
Write emails- right hand
Write- right hand
Shower- one hand
Text- one hand

That, and I am a left hander!

It brings everything into new perspective, how every little thing counts, yet we take them for granted - our hAnds, fingers, eyes, toes, hair !!
so yes count your blessings!

The Not So Gentle Reminder

We should never take anything for granted, no matter how tiny it may seem.

Walking home from a coffee/tea session last night with Cel, I tripped and fell onto the road, scraping my hands. No problem right since all the fall did was to leave a big fat red gash the size of a fifty cent Malaysian coin.
That's not too bad. Except, it hurt like hell. I quickly found out that ok, small gash but it completely impacted my ability to move my thumb, hence something mundane like brushing my teeth now takes ages. Washing my hair, dressing up- takes a hell lot longer with just one hand. Oh gosh, who would have thought!?

It's ok though, small price to pay for an important reminder. I was just thinking about Sam whilst walking home last night, she too, just had a nasty fall, way worst than mine, leaving a big cut on her knee. I was just thinking what to get for her when I visit this weekend, when I tripped.

All I could think off was hey, I must take a pic to show Sam!!! Haha. And I did!

Anyways, the evening was such a gorgeous event. Spur of the moment, I invited Cel over for dinner, made pasta pesto with mountain heaps of green vege and spinach(except post cooking, the mountain shrank into tiny green shrubs). Then, we decided to do coffee/tea at vivo since it was still so early!

Dalai Lama's 18 rules for living

Rule 16.As often possible, go someplace you've never been before

And so we did. The trip to mersing went by without a hitch.

We met at 6.30am, and took a taxi all the way to Larkin. From Larkin to mersing, our coach miraculously waited for us although we arrived Larkin late.

In mersing, we called a few chalets and found one on the top of the hill, overlooking the South China Sea. Perfect. We took it.

The resort was very serene. At first glance, it looks a bit creepy, deserted. Situated next to the forest and a deserted building didn't help matters either.
But we told each other to have an open mind and heart, and boy am I glad.
We ended up meeting the nicest family who owns the place. The owner is a 70year old man who grew up in London and worked in Singapore in his youth. A well travelled man, it was a great experience speaking to him, so well learned and experienced.
Gian and I ended up extending another night and spent our days in the sun, by the pool overlooking the sea, taking walks around mersing town, and last night, a barbecue. It was just beautiful.

This trip we have met so many wonderful kind individuals.
Sure, we left feeling abit sad that the trip was over, and we didn't make it to the islands, but oh boy, we shall be back for sure! So many plans, ideas!

Project S

So Celeste and I are amidst working on this project, and we are excited because its expected launch date is June 28!

We met once again after work today at cedele, to run over the details, amongst the other usual girly banter,

I am excited!!

Right now, I am dedicating the rest of my life to improvements and challenging myself beyond whatever means.

So now here I am in bed, with a face mask, doing leg lifts, whatsaping and reading.
Talk about multi tasking eh

The weekend escape, kinda

Monday, and we decided to go on a quick break to one of the mini islands near Tioman, disregarding a few underlying factors.
One it's a long weekend
Two everywhere is going to be fully booked
So we scrambled around the past few days, and we have transport of some kind to mersing, yey!
So first leg in, now all we need to do is to find accommodation. Except that on the Internet they are all fully booked.
I believe in inefficiencies, especially when it has anything and everything do with Malaysia, so I remain optimistic!
Haha!
Worse case, we pack our bags, head off to mersing and see where that brings us! On an adventure!
:)
So yea, islands here we come!!!

The storm has passed

For a few weeks now I haven't been at my best at work.
I was harbouring an anger of some sort, a discontentment. I felt stuck, and I wanted out. I felt like there was more I could do, and I felt like there was a landslide of work piling up on me.
Last night I made a decision to suck it up- while I look around, perhaps it's time for a jump, within the industry.
I want to run my own business but being where I am now, it would enable me to raise funds quickly for the things I want to do.
I decided that I may as well have fun while I am here, and I can still run my other projects concurrently.
Just great!

So today onwards, I want to shift my focus back onto giving thanks. Thanks for the opportunity to test my patience, my skills, my perseverance. The opportunity to be in an industry that tests me within all possible means.
So yes, thank you.

Feels like another lifetime

This is why we should always remember to take photos no matter how busy we may be- so we can always look back and be thankful for the amazing experiences and memories!

Upcoming project

I love writing because it inspires me.
It helps me to sort out my thoughts, ideas.
I love reading my previous posts, it's like walking down memory lane.
I love to see the woman I am growing to be, and I love reading how my writing is evolving as time goes by.
Of course I do have my off moments and all I want to do is rant.
Today isn't the case, for today I feel inspired.
I spent the day with Celeste brainstorming on this thing that we intend to launch end of June. Our brains are working overtime, and we are truly excited. I pitched the idea to her today actually, and I am glad she loves it. I think we can make quite a pair as business partners !

We went cafe hopping whilst scouting for a location, turning work into joy.
It was an inspiring afternoon spent laughing, taking pictures and exchanging goals, ideas and vision.

Then, I met gian for dinner, I was so excited to hear all about the nlp session. I was supposed to attend as well, but had to postpone my session. due to the conference yesterday. My session is to take place in aug! Oh glorious aug come quickly pls!

We spent the evening exchanging stories about nlp and the importance of charting our goals- again we left the dinner table inspired and determine to excel!
So many ideas!

Pheeewwwwwwwww!' TGIF!!!!

Finally! A sigh of relief, the event went great, and now I have the weekend, oh glorious weekend!!!!

It was a hell of a week- crazy, dramatic, and oh-so- EXHAUSTING. We had to organize a farewell dinner for a dear colleague, work on slides, work on the conference, the dinner - on top of that, a whole bunch of daily transactions! Phone calls! emails! late nights! early mornings! many meetings!

There were times when I was quite close to tears, and a time even that I ran off to the toilet to cry my eyes out because I was so overwhelmed! Ok, it didn't help that my period came right smack in the middle of the week, so I wasn't quite my usual self.

But oh, now that the week is over and done with, I am quite glad that we overcame it! A few cups of nespressos, heaps of water and glasses of beer did the trick. Of the many things I had to juggle, from being chairperson of the conference, to dealing with the usual daily transactions, I was nervous most of all to be the emcee for the night, but oh gosh, since my secret ambition is to be a speaker or a coach, I totally loved it, and the evening was a blast.

So yes! Time to kick back, listen to music and say hello to the weekend!

Adrenaline rush

The past few weeks I have been working insanely hard on this conference and dinner. Finally with just a few days to go, this Friday is the big day!
I am a little bit nervous, very much so stressed but oh gosh, I am going to do the best I can!

National achiever's congress 2013

It was spectacular, Inspiring!
Gian and I attended the event not knowing what to expect. My original intention was just to meet Richard Branson and Les Brown.
We decided to attend most of the talks irregardless if we were interested in the topic or not. Just as life would have it, when you explore unchartered terrain, expect to be rewarded.

And yes, rewarded and inspired we were, so many ideas! So many things we would like to try out and sign up for. We made it a pact to always try everything and anything.
So we left the event yesterday after Richard's session with a few packages for the next few weekends!

And how was Richard? He was very endearing, he looked almost uncomfortable with all the attention and was very humble. Such an amazing quality for a founder of a mega brand like virgin.
