Dalai Lama's 18 rules for living

Rule 16.As often possible, go someplace you've never been before

And so we did. The trip to mersing went by without a hitch.

We met at 6.30am, and took a taxi all the way to Larkin. From Larkin to mersing, our coach miraculously waited for us although we arrived Larkin late.

In mersing, we called a few chalets and found one on the top of the hill, overlooking the South China Sea. Perfect. We took it.

The resort was very serene. At first glance, it looks a bit creepy, deserted. Situated next to the forest and a deserted building didn't help matters either.
But we told each other to have an open mind and heart, and boy am I glad.
We ended up meeting the nicest family who owns the place. The owner is a 70year old man who grew up in London and worked in Singapore in his youth. A well travelled man, it was a great experience speaking to him, so well learned and experienced.
Gian and I ended up extending another night and spent our days in the sun, by the pool overlooking the sea, taking walks around mersing town, and last night, a barbecue. It was just beautiful.

This trip we have met so many wonderful kind individuals.
Sure, we left feeling abit sad that the trip was over, and we didn't make it to the islands, but oh boy, we shall be back for sure! So many plans, ideas!
