1 Altitude

Fri Night, and it was Jules, my housemate of 4 days, last day in Singapore.

Oh wait, to sidetrack a bit, how is life at Normanton Park?

So okay, it is quite different to hear happy chatter in the living room, or the slamming of doors, or the loud blast of the TV- right down to waiting for my turn to (urgently!!!) use the restroom.

I think I have gotten used to having the full run of the house most of the time while living with crew, or during the period of my life as a crew - that now I am so tickled to have people at home, or to spend Sunday mornings in front of the TV with a big bowl of popcorn, or having well, just mess on the coffee table!

And yes, it is also to my delight that these new housemates love partying!

So back to where I started- Fri night was Jules last night in Singapore, and we decided to throw a farewell for her. We ended up at One Altitude, with its really breathtaking view of Singapore:

so that's it , good night, I want to wake up early tomorrow for my morning run!!!

hey Green Fingers!

The weekend flew by so fast!

Anyways, the orchids we bought a year ago is really thriving on his balcony!! Can you believe it, once upon a time we thought one of this orchids were going to die!

And look at it now:

So we adopted/rescued one more, we found this poor one at the trash bin, someone had decided to get rid of it, thinking it had died. So Gian actually took it home, cut its leaves, and left it on his balcony, with plenty of sun, and the occasional fertilizer.

It is slowly recovering! In place of what used to be spotty-looking leaves; are healthy looking green ones!

As for me, I am trying to grow these in my room:

The Portulaca Grandiflora, aka Moss Rose.

It is pretty cute really, with its variety of teeny weeny flowers, last week I had red and yellow ones, which opened during the day, and closed as soon as the sun sets.

Unfortunately the flowers of my Moss Rose wilt pretty fast, and in place of last week's yellow and reds:

White ones!

If this batch goes well, am going to try and grow some on my balcony. Saw some gorgeous petunia's today at my neighbour's balcony, and am quite quite quite tempted to run off to the nearest nursery tomorrow and get a pot of petunias!!

We'll see!

clipped wings:dinner dates

Now that I am on study leave, I find myself being able to indulge in one of my favourite past times ever, blogging!

Now, it's not even like I have tons of people reading my posts, but really, its for my own (and for mum to keep updated with my life ) sake.

I love writing, it's therapeutic, and it's really great fun to look back at your old posts and read about good times gone by.

Life is good, enjoyed dinner today with Vy and the girls. Vy, let's uhhh.. bring sexy back?

kiss.

studiato, si si!!

You would expect love notes, or even a funnily-out-of-shaped-drawn-heart from a boyfriend.. but yet while I was studying today, I found this, right in the middle of my notebook :

ah yes, my dear mr curly, is very sneaky indeed!

the 2 year mark

It's almost two years! I have never really been great at keeping my relationships past the two year mark, fingers crossed!

These pics were taken back in May while we were in Capetown, all happy and relaxed. It feels like such a long time ago!

These days though, things has been pretty stressful for him at work, especially with the markets really acting up, let's just hope we are not heading for yet another recession. Maybe it is really a good time after all to take time off work, and do our MBA!

Moving Out!

I am amidst packing again, and yes, I haven't change one bit- that bit about procrastination, of course.

Think am doing a pretty darn good job though. Single handedly I have managed to work 16 hours a day the whole of this week (packed somewhat 50% on Tuesday which thank god was Singapore's National Day, and hence a Public Holiday), and still be ready for my big fat move to the city today!

Yesterday, my last day at work before I go on my one-month's leave - has been a mad rush as expected. Will talk about work one fine day.

For now, this entry is all about my big fat move. I have lived the past 3 years, near the airport in the east- near to the airport, for work. Now that I am on ground, I have decided to move to the city, and am looking forward to exploring a new part of the country!

So I managed to pack the rest of my stuff this morning and am pretty pleased with myself. Except that now I am a teensy bit anxious: outside in my soon-to-be ex living room, sits something like 15 BIG BOXES, 5 luggages, and in MY ROOM still, there's two more luggages, 2 boxes, 2 coffee tables, a mini cupboard, 2 mirrors. There. My life in Singapore summed up in boxes. Oh wait, let's not forget my 2-year old-never-been-used bicycle, 2 potted plants and my popcorn machine.

Hmm.

How is this all going to fit in my new place I do not know. I would be sharing the room for a bit with Jules, before she goes back to Canada- no, I have not met her before until my viewing the apartment- hence, yes, am worried too that it would be awkward sharing a room with a complete stranger, outgoing as she may seem.

Nevermind, that's the fun thing about life, I love throwing myself in senseless situations like this- now let's just see how I handle it.

Ok, back to the last minute mad rush!
