Sunday lunch

Hmm, lunch was brown rice with Kai lan, chickpeas and lentils, topped with minced mint.

Yum!

Saturday night

Last night we went out to celebrate a great piece of news I received from my workplace.

So we went to this authentic Italian pizza joint, hidden in Mackenzie road.

The atmosphere were superb, company fantastic, and food sublime.

A great date night out! I went overboard ordering my favorite Italian dishes, but hey, it was a night to celebrate!

The Almost Friday, cheer

I just love it that my workplace right now is so centralized and close to everyone else's!

I've been enjoying myself- having dinners with him after work, or meeting up with friends for lunch or after-work drinks.

Maybe I am still in my honeymoon phase, but let's seee, i'm real happy right now!

What a difference

So last night, he sends me a photo, taken two years ago, while I was still flying.

Boy, what a difference two years make, how my life has changed since then!

Wee! More to come!

My favorite weekend activity

If there's one thing I love doing on my weekends, it'll be heading out to the shelter and making a few furry friends real happy with a kick ass walk.

Some days we wake up late, or lunch takes a bit too long, or it rains, so we miss out.

But boy, last week it was just great. I brought fatty out, and together with her cell partner, we walked and walked, found a nice spot on the grass, sat for a bit and let them watch the passer-bys and cars whizz by. We figured it would be nice to let them enjoy the grass and sun while we can, since their compound is all cemented.

So yes, it was just fantastic!

Saturday lunch

Tee hee!
I am so tickled that he makes such an effort to plan our weekend lunches!
I received a text mid-week, to guess what was in store. The only hint I had was that it was past the Mediterranean coast. I was thinking along the lines of the south African boboti, really!

Turned out, lunch was couscous with fresh home grown garden herbs and cherry tomatoes. It was just perfect for a hot Saturday!

A Peaceful Retreat

Ah, nothing like a peaceful retreat to call home.

After a pretty hectic day,  a teensy wee bit of flu this morning,  boy am I happy to find the house empty when I got home.

I had been so indecisive the whole day, to or not to go out for dinner, since it's a Friday night, but I found myself thinking instead of how the food would be prepared at the restaurants- cheap oil, salt and what-nots. I decided that my body deserves better, so after work, I find myself automatically making a bee-line for the grocery store to buy some vegetables for my pasta tonight.

Just great, now time to unwind before my night out !

Detox número 8

We were due for our 8th session this week, and boy, we've been laying around all day, weak from the detox.

Thank goodness it was nice and sunny this morning, so we spent the morning laying by the pool. I've been having my swimming lessons, so I can get my Diving license this year!

Anyways, I am mighty pleased with the detox this time- I released the most number of stones as compared to my previous sessions!

So yea, here's to being healthier!

I only wish I could share this incredible life-changing experience with my family. This journey for health has been an amazing experience, and I haven't felt so happy, and at peace. We would think that our emotions stem from external events, but really, our reality is created by us internally. And how well we interpret and handle life's events depend heavily on the state of our health- emotionally and physically. Which is why I find myself growing so much mentally in the past few months, because I am slowly but surely improving my physical state- by eating healthily, sleeping well, exercising.

Oh well. I shall work hard to influence
my family!

Paella, attempt 1

So Saturday, and prior to running off to spent the day at the shelter, we made vegetarian paella.
Yum! With a dash of saffron, long beans, pepper, tomatoes and olives - it was super perfetto for the weekend!

As a man thinketh

I always like to end my day, giving thanks and feeling grateful for everything and everyone I have in my life.

Then I like to think of the things I want to achieve, and I try to take a good look at my filled-to-the-brim bucket list.

So yesterday evening, with my dear Vy and Nelly, we started talking about how we like to end our evenings, and we all found out that we were actually practicing the secrets of The secret!

So yes, today, I am grateful once again to have stumbled into my dream job, I am thankful for the amazing experiences I have had along the journey- from my exchange year, right up to flying, to advertising, and now to where I am.

We should always remember that everyone dies, it is only inevitable, but sadly, not everybody lives.

So yes, we should be inspired limitlessly by our dreams, and fear not of well, our fears!

Just last year, Gian and I were in Cape Town. How time flies, and how much a difference my life has been from then till now!

Ah well. Time to sip on my herbal tea and cart of to dream land!

First month

Woohoooooo how time flies, now I find myself in my second month at my new workplace.

It is a bit daunting to be in a new environment, but I like pushing my limits, and I find it abit like learning a new language, so I couldn't be happier!

Back in advertising, it would be a crime almost to leave work at 615pm, but here, at 630, my colleagues start telling me to go home!

So yes, here I am now, sitting by the river, having just met for a quick drink with Gian, and Ivy and Nelson's coming to meet me for dinner!
