family time

about a week back, I sneaked back to KL for the weekend without telling anyone- it was such a bliss!

all i did was spend a nice long weekend with my mum mostly, my sweetest monsters and Linny!

....
and my monsters??
They have decided that dad's fave carpet is also their new favourite chew toy. They play tug of war with it. Gosh. Wait till dad finds out!

Sugarbun got sick of Muffin , here she is, hiding under the drawers.

Here's my Muffin trying to trick Sugarbun into coming out to play.

It was a no go, Poor Muffin baby.

All in day's work.

We made a sort of a banner thingy for dad who's coming back for good from Jakarta this Friday :D

A fantastic evening stroll in the city

40 hours plus of no sleep and counting...

I have had a lot of happy days and fantastic memories in Singapore and thru my travels- one of the best-est (pun intended) would be this recent trip to Melbourne.

I had less than 24 hours to spend with Eli , and we didn't sleep throughout the 24 hours-except for that teensy one hour nap before I left for work, but it was all SO WORTH IT!

So what did we do?

*We had my gado gado fix (which wasn't exactly gado gado it was called vege something- gado gado sort of with rice)

*we shopped at Supre (was DA BOMB!! hahaha,.. vyvy yes yes, everything's DA BOMB to me!! lol..but am no kidding, I LOVE LOVE LOVE SUPRE MELB!)

* visited Eli's campus at La trobe - the campus is HUGE!

*dropped by Eli's place (Love it babe!! So cosy!), had tea and fruits and Eli's place, met Eli's bestfriend in Melb, Lyn

*chased a train to get back to Melbourne Central

*had Nando's for Dinner ( the setting was oh-so-Portugal-ish, yes yes, we had Portugalasm LOL)

* dessert at Max Brenner's a.k.a Abang Max for a Tutti Frutti Waffle fix (yesss! it's DA BOMB!)

*sat by the window bed in my hotel room, and watch the cars and pedestrians go by till the 4 something in the A.M.!

*watched bits and pieces of the reruns of the NBA playoffs Denver vs LA Lakers - Eli was my tutor !

A great trip- we laughed till we cried, we cried, we chatted, we shopped, we ran, we walked all over, we ate like nobody's business, we talked about exes, we counted taxis.. Looking forward to my next Melbourne trip!

Our latest plan?? To travel Argentina !!

What's in a name?

Mum and I were driving yesterday to Midvalley for lunch.

Here's a list of names we came up with (should we ever decide to get a third baby monster ..ie puppy)

1)Cookie
2)Mocha
3) Rotiboy
4).... (at which point mum grew increasingly excited with our food list, she came up with ..ahemm..) Pineapple Upside down cake. HMM.

5) Mojito
6)Rum and Raisin

.. the list was endless.

Mum, I just love our conversations.
:D

Nanjing in May

Ok, two weeks late, but life's been keeping me busy lately.. So here goes!
Pictures!
:D

Here we were, outside Dr Sun Yat Sen's mausoleum

A bullet mark from the World War 2.

... and that, is the tomb of Dr Sun Yat Sen.

Our next stop??

The Nanjing City Wall:

The names and addresses of the builders of the Nanjing City Hall. Each and every brick had to be the same size and dimension, if not- then they, and their families would be beheaded.

Emperor Zhu Yuanzhang ordered the Nanjing City wall to be built after he founded the Ming Dynasty, and making Nanjing its capital 600 years ago. The project took 21 years to complete, from 1366 to 1386, with 200,000 labourers.

That's the Yuejiang Tower, at the peak of Lion Mountain . You'll see more of the Yuejiang tower ina bit.

That's our tourist guide.

Next we went to an old village, and to a house which was the komunis party's meeting place.

us at the meeting place verandah.

Trying to look all Confucious-y

Us outside the Confucious temple.

sweet old couple. Really.

we were exhausted!!!

View from the top of Yuejiang Tower, overlooking the Yangtze River.

I've heard of freshly SQUEEZED juice. HMMM.

but What about juices that SQUEEZE??

Us, outside the bank. Jacklyn and I were having a SERIOUS discussion with the others.

Should we or should we not, FOR THE SECOND TIME, withdraw more renminbis??

Needless to say...

We withdrew. So here we were, Back in the Mall . AGAIN!

To make sure that the additional costs of having to withdraw more cash was well spent, we made sure we spent to the last cent of our renminbis!

Queueing to peepee!
