Nanjing in May

Ok, two weeks late, but life's been keeping me busy lately.. So here goes!
Pictures!
:D

Here we were, outside Dr Sun Yat Sen's mausoleum

A bullet mark from the World War 2.

... and that, is the tomb of Dr Sun Yat Sen.

Our next stop??

The Nanjing City Wall:

The names and addresses of the builders of the Nanjing City Hall. Each and every brick had to be the same size and dimension, if not- then they, and their families would be beheaded.

Emperor Zhu Yuanzhang ordered the Nanjing City wall to be built after he founded the Ming Dynasty, and making Nanjing its capital 600 years ago. The project took 21 years to complete, from 1366 to 1386, with 200,000 labourers.

That's the Yuejiang Tower, at the peak of Lion Mountain . You'll see more of the Yuejiang tower ina bit.

That's our tourist guide.

Next we went to an old village, and to a house which was the komunis party's meeting place.

us at the meeting place verandah.

Trying to look all Confucious-y

Us outside the Confucious temple.

sweet old couple. Really.

we were exhausted!!!

View from the top of Yuejiang Tower, overlooking the Yangtze River.

I've heard of freshly SQUEEZED juice. HMMM.

but What about juices that SQUEEZE??

Us, outside the bank. Jacklyn and I were having a SERIOUS discussion with the others.

Should we or should we not, FOR THE SECOND TIME, withdraw more renminbis??

Needless to say...

We withdrew. So here we were, Back in the Mall . AGAIN!

To make sure that the additional costs of having to withdraw more cash was well spent, we made sure we spent to the last cent of our renminbis!

Queueing to peepee!
