The Rape of Nanjing




We had a whole week of FUN in Nanjing- Our last day there, we decided to do something a little more serious. We decide to visit the Nanjing Massacre Memorial Hall.


Built in 1985 by the government , this museum serves not only as a grieve reminder of the city's history, but also to raise awareness and in remembrance of the 300,000 victims .


It was certainly an eye opener.


When we arrived at about 9 ish in the a.m., there was a long queue. Oh what do we do while waiting, but TAKE PICTURES!

See the hand at the far top-right corner of this rock? It's a hand, signifying the victims' call for help.
















Once inside...






There were tons of disturbing photos, and heart wrenching tales from the survivors. There was even sites where large number of skeletal remains were found- we left the place heavy-hearted and close to tears.


May there always be peace on earth
