Good morningggggg Istanbul!!!! 210309

My Spinach pastry from this cafe on walking street near our hotel, for only 5 Lira. Yummy!

It was the elections in Istanbul. We were warned against going out in Istanbul , because elections tend to be pretty hostile here. While the rest decided to stay put in the hotel, John and I were both quite adamant about touring Istanbul. So, we did :)

the car ride to Blue Mosque

Elections in Istanbul 09

us with the Hagia Sophia-formerly the world's largest cathedral for almost a thousand years until 1520.

and , the Blue Mosque, the national mosque of Turkey.

John John and I inside the Blue Mosque :)

outside the Grand Bazaar

us at the Grand Bazaar, which is really a huge colourful indoor market, with all things possible- clothing, to handbags to bowls, carpets...

the bowls at the Grand Bazaar that were oh-just-too-pretty, I would love to buy a few back myself, but I was worried that it won't make it back to Singapore in one piece :S

with some Turkish University. It was freezing, and John and I were both keen to make the most of our Istanbul day out. So here it is, random pics of touristy-important-looking-buildings!!

another important looking monument- problem is, don't quite know what it is. LOL

this is the view from my hotel room in Istanbul. I just love the water!!

Back in Dubai 230309...

Once we got back to Dubai, we decided to order delivery from the nearby Indian restaurant, SilverEagle. Yummy! We had a few empty rooms as a few of us bunked in, and I was bunking in with Jocelyn, so we used my room for our dinner party and bitching/gossip session!!

Final day in Dubai 240309..
Jocelyn and I both woke up super hungry on the last day of our Dubai trip, and we wanted buffet breakfast!!! So we dragged John and Angela along, sorry no pics here, all of us were half dressed in pajamas ! :S But here's a pic of one of the many helpings I had of the cinnamon french toast with chocolate sauce. YUm!! Hmm wonder if that was the cause of my 3 day diarrhoea post-Dubai!
