Today is one of the rare evenings that I get home early. I am happily sitting in my room listening to Norah Jones, reading The Power, looking at Pinterest, admiring my hair and texting.
I try to stay away from the news as much possible because it is quite depressing and ignorance is always bliss- yet my mind can't help but wander over the recent shootings, I wonder if those kids had any idea that it would be the last time that they would see their family and loved ones when they left for school/work that day.
And again I remind myself how impermanent life is, how we are here only for a short moment and how only god knows when it is our turn to say good bye!
On a happier note, it's Christmas week, and everyone is in a relaxed mode at work. Mamma che pasta is growing its clientele slowly but surely, gian is as stressed as ever- but only because he strives for the best and has such high demands of himself- but truly, I am super proud of him. That, and I am super excited to head home to kl for nye!
Thanh is here from the ned, I brought him to the shop for lunch today, and turned out gian's friend popped by too on the way to the airport- the shop is fast becoming a hang out place, and I love it!
Ok back to my book!

Novembre
Busy busy busy, that would pretty sum up this period of my life.
Mamma Che Pasta is finally up and running and I can't be more proud of Gian. He has been working non-stop, and I just love seeing how the business is slowly being developed.
On the work front, things are piling up and I just love it. I love the rush, I love the maze I have to work through everyday- the ups and downs, I love being on my toes. Simply because I find myself progressing, and learning more and more everyday, be it professionally or personally.
My birthday came and went, and we were caught up with the launch that it was a nice simple and honest event, just what I like!
Found out jung got married, and the news pretty much made my week, I am so so so happy for my dearest friend. Only god knows when we will meet again!
Linny came to sg too for the weekend, and it was great to show her around!
And finally, it's my favorite time of the year- the trees are out, with lovely lights, everyone s on a holiday mood, ooh, I hope the next two months crawl by !

Come September!
Oh dear me! How time flies, and much has happened the past few weeks!
Ivy is on ground for two months, so we have been having a whale of a time planning our Fridays every Monday onwards, gian and I have gotten bikes each so we have been cycling heaps, I have been cooking a whole lot more and been experimenting with fresh garden herbs, I have a new housemate, my ex-housemate has moved to Amsterdam, visited Kl twice in a month, and work has been piling up!!!
I really need to re- look at my goals for the year, time to do some reflecting!

Gorgeous, really
It has been a beautiful weekend, one of catching up with old friends, and making new ones.
It helped too that it was all nice and sunny, I felt as if I was on a holiday again!
So Friday, I met up with Norah, and man, it was great to catch up with her.. I am happy that I can just be friends with her now, without the complications of her being my boss! Haha, we had a good laugh and gossip about everyone and everything at the agency, and it brought back good memories, horrifying ones too!
Then, sat night, it was a mini Monash reunion, and I am just so thankful to have these ladies who are living in Singapore too!!
Today, I went with cris and lili to Tj beach club, and gosh, I really love the place. We met so many people, and it was such a great way to spend our Sunday noon. So relaxed and easy going, and it's such a great place to network!
So yes, wonderful really, it has been!

First for everything
So am at the airport waiting to board my flight back to Singapore, hence marking the completion of my first work trip, to kl. It was pretty eventful, but man, I've got heaps to learn!
The secret really works, because one of the items on my wish list was to be able to spend about 1-3 days in kl and the remaining in Singapore. I don't mind pulling a 5-7 hour flight every once in awhile, but boy, this rocks. Being able to come home to see mum and the gang, to cuddle with the monsters, to chat till midnight with my parents, and to find food on the table without lifting a finger. Then, being able to fly back and see gian. Perfect!
Hmm, better add more items to my list!

Sleep-induced Night
Ok, I really do try to avoid taking medication or drugs whatsoever usually.
However, desperate times call for desperate measures.
It's been 3 days two nights, and I have only slept a total of 5 hours at most.
The grogginess during the day is not too bad, but man, the long nights are killing me.
I had totally forgotten all about those long restless nights during my crew days, but the past two nights brought them right back, fresh and raw.
Last night, all I could think about was receiving a call from Sam in Japan one night, in tears because she couldn't sleep. I felt just as frusfrated last night.
Something about it, I don't know of being awake whilst everyone else is asleep makes me depressed and alone.
Last night, I got home , went for a run, fed the fish, cooked dinner, and by 11 I naively thought that I was ready for bed. Boy, was I wrong!
By 1 am I gave up. I messaged
a few friends and my family, some asleep, some awake- however, one by one, all of them went to sleep. By 3, I decided to watch MasterChef. 4 am I tried sleeping. But wait a minute, 4.15 I thought I was going mad because I started hearing weird scratchy sounds in the room. I turned on the lights only to find two humongous cockroaches crawling about in his darn room!!
I told them to go away please and let me sleep, and thank goodness they did.
Tonight, I am going back to my place where I have yet to have any crawly encounters.
Hmm fool me once shame on you, fool
me twice, I am fool. Or was it shame
On me?
Hence- tonight I shall be armed!!!
With ahem: Sleeping pills for jet-lag and a bottle of Sheltox in the other!!!
Sleep, you better freaking make sure you come to me tonight!
Oooooh this is a war I shall so win!!
